Abstract

Most of the research conducted in Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) and human-centered cybersecurity (HCC) is focused on Western populations. Without reproducing this research in non-Western contexts, it is unclear how these findings generalize throughout the world. Our project will identify the current research that is being conducted in the African region, through a systematic literature review of HCC research published in recent years. We hope to map the current state of knowledge, identify conceptual and methodological gaps, and articulate future research directions for human-centered cybersecurity research in the region.
