Undergraduate research is a signature Xavier experience and an opportunity for students to dive deep into real world questions and collaborate one-on-one with faculty mentors. In the classroom we may study history or biology, but through research we begin to understand what it truly means to be a historian or a biologist. The Summer Research Symposium celebrates this hands on learning by showcasing the work of students and their mentors through oral presentations.

The 2025 Summer Research Symposium will be Friday August 8 from 10 AM until around 2 PM. A detailed schedule will be posted on this page once abstracts have been submitted.

This year's event will be offered in a hybrid format. Students in Cincinnati will present in person, while those working outside the area will present remotely using Teams. However you present, you are welcome to invite friends and family to attend virtually. Teams links will be available on the schedule page on the day of the event.

All presentations will be oral and scheduled in 15-minute blocks. Please plan to speak for 12-13 minutes and allow a few minutes for questions from the audience.

If you worked with a group and are presenting together, only submit one abstract.

If you need to present remotely, or if you have another scheduling request, please use the Scheduling Requests space on the submission form to share that information.
