Publication Ethics Statement
The Journal of Emerging Scholars in Occupational Therapy (JESOT) is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in all stages of the publication process. As a journal focused on supporting emerging scholars, we aim to educate and guide authors in responsible research and publishing practices.
Authorship and Originality
All authors must meet the criteria for authorship, including substantial contributions to the work and approval of the final manuscript (APA Ethics Code Standard 8.12a, Publication Credit)
Submissions must be the original work of the author(s) and must not have been published elsewhere or be under consideration by another journal.
Proper citation of all sources is required, including adapted figures, ideas, and prior publications.
Academic Integrity and Misconduct
JESOT strictly prohibits plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, and unethical research practices.
All allegations of misconduct will be investigated following COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, and appropriate actions will be taken.
Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
Authors may use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT or Grammarly) for language refinement, grammar checking, or idea generation, but AI must not be listed as an author.
Authors must maintain full responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of their work.
AI must not be used to generate data, analyze findings, or produce literature reviews unless clearly stated, justified, and ethically approved.
Research Involving Humans
All research involving human participants must include appropriate institutional ethics approval and informed consent.
Peer Review Ethics
JESOT follows a double-anonymous review process to ensure fairness and objectivity.
Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and maintain confidentiality throughout the review process.
Corrections and Retractions
JESOT is committed to correcting errors promptly. When necessary, corrections, retractions, or editorial notes will be published to maintain the integrity of the academic record.
By submitting to JESOT, authors affirm that they understand and agree to abide by these ethical guidelines.
