Abstract

This study examines the growing role of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in college students’ learning experiences. The goal of the project was to explore how students use AI tools and how these technologies impact productivity, understanding, and academic integrity. The research combined a literature review of current studies on AI in education with qualitative interviews conducted with college students from different majors. Findings suggest that students commonly use AI for brainstorming, summarizing material, and clarifying complex concepts, which can improve efficiency and confidence in learning. However, concerns about academic dishonesty, misinformation, and overreliance remain significant. Overall, the results highlight the need for clearer institutional policies and education on responsible AI use.
