Collection Information

This collection of 35mm slides includes images depicting the university, faculty, staff, and students. The collection comes from Xavier University’s Director for Photography unit, which ceased operations in 2020. The original slides do not typically include the identity of the photographer: since Gregory Rust was the University Photographer during this period, he is listed as the photographer unless another was identified on an original slide or in existing inventories. If the image was captured before 1984, Xavier University is listed as the creator. In addition, the date of each slide was taken from the date stamped or blind-stamped onto the 2"x2" cardboard mount of each slide. When those are absent, UASC staff assigned dates based on contextual information.

Only a small selection of images are available online. Non-digitized images are available for viewing in the UASC Research Room. Images available online are copyrighted by Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio.
