Description

After enthusiastic response to a "mimeographed newsletter" sent out in late 1941 or early 1942, Xavier University administrators published The Xavier Newsletter, which was to be distributed to "men in the service, the civilian student body, the Army Air Corps trainees, the alumni, alumnae, dads, mothers and friends of Xavier. We plan to issue the NEWSLETTER ten times a year. Items of interest will be welcomed from all Xavier sources" (Newsletter, Volume I, Number 1, 1943-09-10). The Xavier Newsletter, published during World War II, reported on Xavier University's administration, student activities, sports, academics, and other campus life news. It featured articles about former students, faculty, staff, and alumni serving in the military and included updates from these soldiers or stories about their service.
