Abstract
The use of efficient documentation and workflow in athletic training facilities, more commonly known as the ATF, are essential for supporting athletic trainers (ATs) and optimizing patient care. This is especially true in secondary schools, where ATs often need to work in a limited space. At the Summit Country Day School, an iPad is used to track patient encounters each day. There are commonly multiple athletes a day who fail to sign in, which affects documentation and workflow. This problem also contributes to overcrowding and reduces the amount of movability in the ATF. These issues can also affect the efficiency and safety. It was hypothesized that implementing a more accessible location, with signage, for athletes to sign in will decrease the number of athletes who do not sign in each day. Through the use of easy accessibility and signage, documentation and workflow will improve and ultimately create a less congested and safer environment for ATs and athletes.
