Abstract
Human trafficking is a rapidly growing crime. After a review of literature, it was found that nearly 87% of trafficked victims have contact with a healthcare professional at some point during their captivity. The emergency room is where much of this contact is made. Unfortunately, registered nurses are under-educated on the topic of human trafficking. With the proper education, healthcare workers are in a unique place to help victims. The objective of this project was to develop an educational module to provide the needed education.
