Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic drastically affected many aspects of our lives, with education being one of the most notable aspects that was affected. We still see the looming effects and new strategies that resulted from the pandemic present in college courses today. The purpose for this research study was to closely examine the effects the pandemic had not only on college students, but also on how it changed college composition courses and how they are taught and understood. This study examines multiple different research studies regarding the effects of covid-19 on college students and college education. This also more directly covers and incorporates creative writing courses with some research studies also covering creative writing, and previous research gathered on the current state of creative writing in the college composition world. The samples of the studies that were examined consists of college students from across The United States within the last 4 years since the pandemic initially started in 2020. The data that is presented here is a preview of some of the data taken from the studies I examined to represent some qualitative data, and then I presented my own quantitative data in which I grouped and collected from observing the studies and their data.
