This collection of restaurant review is the result of work produced by undergraduate Spanish majors and minors for the course Latino Identity, Food, and Health created and taught by Dr. Diane Ceo-DiFrancesco. This course provided students with the opportunity to examine Latine identity through the lens of food and its influence on nutrition and health in the local Latine community. Through multiple community engaged projects, students experienced the multitude of ways in which Latine cuisine has influenced cultural and nutritional practices, products and perspectives of the Latine community. Providing learning opportunities that connect and engage students in the local community enriches their language and cultural experiences by creating real world application of classroom learning. The reviews on this site were produced following student visits and interactions with local small business owners in the Cincinnati area. Written in Spanish and English, readers learn the stories behind these establishments and multiple reasons to support small business owners.
