Funeral prayer card for Hugo Sloctemyer, 1884-1937. The front of the card contains a photograph of Father Sloctemyer. The back of the card contains biographical information and a prayer for the repose of his soul. The card was made by Diederich -Schafer Co., Milwaukee, Wis. Sloctemyer was president of Xavier University (Cincinnati, Ohio) from 1931-1935.


(back) In memory of Rev. Hugo F. Sloctemyer, S.J. Born May 22, 1884 Entered the Society of Jesus September 2, 1902 Died February 7, 1937. Prayer. Grant, we beseech Thee, O Lord, that the soul of Thy servant, Hugo; whom thou hast honored in this life with the sacred functions of the Priesthood, may forever rejoice in the bliss of heaven. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth world without end. Amen. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, And let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
