Description

Funeral prayer card for Frederick Miller, 1893-1974. The front of the card contains a photograph of Father Miller and biographical information. The back of the card contains a prayer for the repose of his soul and a prayer from St. Ignatius. The card was made by an unknown publisher. Miller was professor of chemistry and chairman of the chemistry department at Xavier University (Cincinnati, Ohio).

(front) In Memory of Rev. Frederick N. Miller, S.J. Born: February 27, 1893 Ordained June 16, 1926 Died September 30, 1974. (back) Prayer. O my God, let me love Thee With all my soul-intensively! Beyond the bounds of space and time Thy love transcend this love of mine-So in my earnest sincere way Help me love Thee night and day. May every action that I do Proclaim, dear Lord, that I love You-May life, may deeds, may labors all Be spent in answer to Thy call. And when the shades of night do fall, When darkness settles over all- When strength is gone-and victory Is waiting my last call from Thee-Then hear my one and only plea- "Through endless years-eternity! O wondrous God! Let me love Thee!". "Take, O Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and whole will. Though hast given me all that I am, and all that I possess, I surrender it all to Thee, that Thou mayest dispose of it according to Thy will. Give me only Thy love and Thy grace; with these I will be rich enough, and will have no more to desire." -St. Ignatius
