Abstract

The U.S. Hispanic population has experienced significant growth over the past fifty years, yet their voting patterns have not followed a consistent trajectory. This study uses data from the American National Election Study (ANES) to analyze these trends, focusing on the period from 1970 to 2020. The findings reveal that changes in voting behavior diverge from earlier predictions, with implications that have had a noticeable impact on recent elections. By examining these shifts, the study aims to better understand the evolving political engagement of the Hispanic electorate.
